I'm so excited to be celebrating 17 years of business! Thanks to all of the wonderful customers who have kept the shop going for so long. I almost can't believe how quickly time has passed! A young woman came into the store on Friday and told me that she "grew up shopping here." I almost fainted. But yeah, I guess 17 years is enough time to witness someone growing up. 

I grew up too. I was 25 when I opened the store. I'm now 43. It's crazy how I feel like an expert in a lot of things but I'm always learning something new. Always researching products, or repair methods, or realized prices. Or learning about making my website and improving it every day. Or learning about sending packages to Europe (it feels crazy that people from across the ocean can shop at Dovetail!)

If I'm being honest, this year has been difficult (as I imagine it has been for most of those who are reading this). With all of the chaos and ugliness swirling around us, I hope small businesses (local cafes, bars, restaurants, and venues) like mine can continue surviving in these uncertain times and continue to serve as places of connection and community. We sure need it.
