All vintage items we sell have been used and are 20-100 years old, which means their condition will reflect their age. Expect imperfections with these items. We believe these imperfections add character to the pieces and offer a glimpse into their long histories. We do our best to describe any issues. Please feel free to ask questions before buying, as all sales are final.
Product availability on our website is not guaranteed, as these products are also in our brick-and-mortar store. We try our best to keep our online inventory up-to-date. Your order will only be processed if the item is in stock. If the item you purchased happens to be out of stock, we will notify you and issue an immediate refund.
Please note that while we try to accurately display the color and condition of products, the actual colors you see will depend on your computer settings and may not be completely accurate.
We do our best to research, identify, and authenticate merchandise to the best of our ability; we cannot always be 100% certain of an item's authenticity and use our best judgement based on the information available about the piece. If you have questions about anything in the store, please ask before purchasing.
All sales final. No returns or exchanges. We hope you love your purchase from Dovetail. Please don’t hesitate to ask us a million questions about the products we sell before you purchase them. We are not in the business of selling you something you will regret purchasing. However, as a small business, we must institute a final sale policy.
If you feel a product your purchased online is defective, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org within 7 days of receipt to discuss. If an item is determined to be defective, a refund will be issued for the cost of the item purchased online. All shipping fees are non-refundable. Dovetail is not responsible if the returned package is lost, stolen, or damaged in the mail. Items purchased in-store that are deemed eligible for return are eligible for store credit only, when presented with original receipt and tags.
Apothecary purchases, including fragrance, candles, room diffusers, deodorants, sage, and palo santo are final sale.
Each package is professionally and *very* carefully packaged to ensure safe delivery. For most orders, we ship most items fully insured via UPS. All orders will be shipped within 7 days, if not sooner. If you need something very soon, please contact us and we will try our very best to accommodate you. We are unable to reroute packages once they have be sent.
LOST / STOLEN PACKAGES
Dovetail is not responsible for lost or stolen packages. All shipping fees are non-refundable. Dovetail is not responsible if a package is lost or stolen in the mail. Most items are shipped with insurance and we will work with you to help file a claim for lost/stolen packages.
ITEMS DAMAGED IN TRANSIT
Dovetail is not responsible for items damaged in transit; in most cases, we will be able to refund damaged items, however in order to process refunds on damaged items, we require that customers cooperate with us and the shipping carriers by supplying the documentation requested by the shipping carriers in order to file an insurance claim. Refunds for damaged items are not contigent on the outcome of the insurance claim, however we cannot initate a refund until all the required documentation is provided by the client. If an item has been lost, stolen, or damaged, customers must contact us within 3 days of delivery and retain the item, original package, and all packaging materials (bubble wrap, packing paper, peanuts, etc).
LOCAL PICKUP ORDERS
Orders placed online for local pickup at our physical storefront must be picked up within 30 calendar days of purchase. Items not picked up within 30 calendar days of purchase will be considered abandoned by the customer and returned to sales floor without refund. Purchases over $250 are eligible for alternate pickup arrangements. Please email us at email@example.com to coordinate. Alternately, customers may choose to pay for shipping after purchase if they are unable to pick up orders. We do our best to be reasonable but the store is small and has no storage and some items have been left here for over a year so must institute a 30-calendar-day pickup policy. While Dovetail will send you reminders about your order, it is ultimately the customer's responsibility to pick up their orders and it is not the responsibility of Dovetail to remind you of your orders. Dovetail is not liable for customers who have provided the wrong contact information and therefore did not recieve our pickup notifications.
Currently, we are unable to accomodate orders outside the United States.
